Rhinoplasty Improving patient results and care
A nose job is performed for variety reasons. Each patient has a specific anatomy, shape, skin in the quality and unique desires. Our goal is to understand your specific needs and tailor your procedures for me to provide you the best outcome.
Description: depending on what procedures need to be performed, the incisions can be placed either entirely inside the nose or also on the outside. Through these incisions Dr. Olivier A. Deigni can shape the nose to meet your desired needs. This may include shifting the bones to narrow the bridge of the nose, shaving off some cartilage to reduce a dorsal hump, or defining the nasal tip with various techniques such as cartilage grafting and precise suture placement. Sometimes cartilage is needed and can be harvested from a variety of places including the nasal septum, the back of the ear, or the rib. A nasal splint is placed in order to help protect the healing tissues and it is usually removed within 1-2 weeks.
Surgery: A rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia and usually takes 3 – 5 hours.
Recovery: The majority of the swelling and bruising will be resolved in the first two weeks. For the first few days you will sleep with your head elevated to help reduce swelling and bruising. Most patients can return to work within 10 – 14 days. You may resume exercise in four weeks. Refrain from blowing or rubbing your nose for 2 – 3 weeks.
